As Moto X release neared, the number of leaks and rumors regarding Motorola’s customizable flagship also came pouring in. Not anymore because the company itself has unveiled full specifications, price details and availability information of Moto X.
The
main selling feature of Moto-X is its high customizability that no
other Smartphone offered its users before. This means users can choose
certain parts of the device to
their taste, thanks to the website, MotoMaker.com. The website allows
the future-owner of Moto-X to pick the front panel color to be black or white,
select from 18 options for back cover color, headphone color option,
pick accents for camera rim and side buttons, select internal storage
and go as far as selecting wallpaper with which the device is to be shipped to the user. Currently, the offer is available for US only, however every customized handset is to be made in the USA and shipped to customers within four days following confirmation of order.
The Motorola X8 Mobile System is responsible for Moto X build that
comes with one core for language, one core for contextual processing, a
dual-core Krait CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz with a power Snapdragon S4 Pro
chipset and finally a quad-core Adreno 320 GPU. The
core responsibility for language will deal with the voice command option
added to Moto-X whereas the device’s sensors will be handled by the
contextual processing core.
One drawback is the absence of MicroSD card slot still the handset is
available with either 16Gb storage or 32Gb storage. Other
specifications include 4.7-inch AMOLED display screen with 720p resolution, pixel density at 316 ppi and front and rear cameras of 10 MP and 2 MP, respectively.
Moto X is priced according to the storage offered: 16Gb Moto X for
$199 under two-year agreement and 32 GB version for $249. The five major
US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Sprint, and
Verizon will be shipping the device in August.
